The regrouped "Mandal forces" appears to have checked division of votes which is a setback for BJP which had won 31 seats out of 40 in Bihar in the recent general election with ally LJP and RLSP.

In 2010 Assembly election when BJP and JD(U) were together, BJP had won Narkatiaganj, Jale, Chapra, Hajipur, Mohiuddinagar and Bhagalpur seats.

JD(U) had won from Mohania (SC) seat then. Rajnagar (SC), Parbatta and Banka were won by RJD in 2010.

But, the current trend shows, BJP has managed to hold its fort only in Narkatiaganj seat and made inroads into RJD and JD(U) at Banka and Mohania (SC) seats respectively where its candidates are ahead.

Lalu Prasad's RJD is emerging as major gainer from the tie up with JD(U) and Congress. It is leading in four seats of Rajnagar (SC), Chapra, Mohiuddinagar and Banka.
