Lalu Prasad, who underwent a cardiac surgery here recently, has been shifted out of the intensive care unit of the Asian Heart Institute.

MUMBAI: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, who underwent a cardiac surgery here recently, has been shifted out of the intensive care unit of the Asian Heart Institute.

"Lalu Prasad showed encouraging progress today as he was moved out of the intensive care unit. He is having normal food now," Asian Heart Institute's Medical Director Vijay D'Silva said in a statement here.

His medical care would now be additionally supervised by Harin Vyas, head of the hospital's Familial Diseases and Non-Invasive Cardiology unit, who is also the Head of Cardiac Rehabilitation at the Asian Heart Institute, the statement said.
