Rishi Kapoor sought PMO's aid for Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'
NEW DELHI: Actor Rishi Kapoor, the father of Ranbir Kapoor, who stars in the controversial movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, had also pitched for help in ensuring the smooth release of the movie when he had a meeting in Delhi with Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office ( PMO) Jitendra Singh.

Jitendra Singh confirmed to ET that Rishi Kapoor had a “chance meeting” with him in Delhi, where the actor expressed his view that the film should not be made to suffer retrospectively as it was shot with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the cast when relations between India and Pakistan were good.

It is learned that Kapoor suggested that moviemakers had all regard for patriotic feelings and would put out a message before the movie begins paying homage to the Indian Army martyrs in Uri and that they did not intend to work with any Pakistani actors in the future.

“Rishi Kapoor did not give me any representation… he only expressed his view as a senior member of the film industry. He was also concerned as his son stars in the film. He said any guideline regarding Pakistani actors can be applied henceforth,” Singh said.
