Riot accused BJP MLA's properties attached

The process of attaching Thukral's property at his Adarsh Colony residence here was begun this morning amid tight security, a police official said.

RUDRAPUR: Uttarakhand police today attached the properties of Udham Singh Nagar BJP MLA Rajkumar Thukral absconding ever since an NBW was issued against him in connection with Rudrapur communal riots of 2011.

The process of attaching Thukral's property at his Adarsh Colony residence here was begun this morning amid tight security, a police official said here.

The move comes days after the Chief Judicial Magistratre declared Thukral a proclaimed offender and issued the attachment orders which were pasted at his house, the official said.

Thukral has been evading arrest for more than two months ever since an NBW was issued against him in connection with the 2011 Rudrapur communal riots in which four persons were killed and sixty injured.

Riots erupted in Rudrapur in 2011 after torn pages of a holy book were found outside a place of worship in the town.
