JAMMU: BJP asserted that the increasing trend of terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir needs to be curtailed through a well coordinated and intelligence based strategy so that the ongoing peace efforts in the Valley do not suffer a setback.

"The resurging trend of violence needs to be curtailed forthwith through a well coordinated and intelligence-based strategy so as to ensure that the ongoing efforts to bring peace do not suffer a setback," BJP National Executive Member & J&K chief spokesperson, Jitendra Singh told reporters here.

Singh also expressed concern over sudden rise in the number of security force casualties as a result of these attacks.

Presenting a chronology of recent terror attacks in the state, the BJP leader said that on 24 June 2013, a Rashtriya Rifles convoy was attacked in Hyderpora area resulting in the death of eight soldiers ahead of PM's visit to the state.

In another attack on March 13, 2013, the militants stormed a Central Reserve Police Force camp in Bemina area of Srinagar, killing five jawans, he added.
