We are looking into that too if the airline operators are following the standard protocol while handling passengers, said Sinha.
Reacting to the incident of a passenger getting assaulted by IndiGo ground staffs, Jayant Sinha, minister of state for civil aviation said that the ministry is ‘upset’ with incident and union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju has already convened a meeting on this regard this morning. Calling the incident as ‘shocking and deplorable’, Sinha said the government is examining the complaints coming to them directly and through social networking sites and the issues would be dealt with utmost seriousness.

“Government is considering all aspects. We would be getting detailed report from DGCA. Not only IndiGo, but all other airlines would have to abide the rules framed for the security and safety of passengers. We are looking into that too if the airline operators are following the standard protocol while handling passengers,” said Sinha.

“Examining all aspects, the government would decide on legal intervention if needed. The airlines are used by lakhs of passengers daily and we need to keep in mind everything before taking any action. But we can assure that required actions would be taken after going through all the reports from the DGCA and other agencies,” added the minister.
