Report will be sought from Bihar govt on plus two exam: MoS HRD Upendra Kushwaha
PATNA: The Centre will seek report from Bihar government over the media expose about "dubious" toppers of plus two examination in the state, Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development (HRD) Upendra Kushwaha said today.

After going through the report, the Centre would issue an advisory to take stringent measures to stop malpractices in the examination conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board, he told PTI.

Kushwaha said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should take cognisance of "bunglings" in exams conducted by the state board and take corrective measures. Every year some report of irregularities surface in the conduct of examination by the Bihar board but still the state government does not initiate concrete preventive steps.

"Its because of such incidents that even genuine degrees of Bihar is viewed with doubt outside. It really lowers the image of the state ... The meritorious students are facing misery in Bihar," he said.

Highlighting the "non-serious approach" of the state government in conducting a fair examination, Kushwaha said it was reported that Bishun Rai College of Vaishali, of which the "dubious" plus two humanities topper Ruby Rai and science topper Saurabh Kumar are students, had hit the headlines last year too for acquiring 100 per cent result.

Bihar for the second consecutive year invited nation-wide condemnation after some news channels showed the Ruby pronouncing political science as 'prodigal science' and describing it as a subject related to cooking.
