JAISALMER/SUMERPUR: Holding Congress responsible of making the life of common man painful, Narendra Modi asked people to erase that party from the political map of the country.

"...if the country has to be kept united, Congress should be removed from the political map. Congress' departure will be the real tribute to Mahatama Gandhi," Modi said.

Accusing Congress of betraying the downtrodden sections, he challenged its claims of working for the welfare of the poor and said, "Congress leaders just humiliate the poor and do nothing for them...

"They enjoy talking about the poor, but do not take interest in their uplift," he said at BJP rallies in Sumerpur (Pali), Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, the home turf of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Today was the last day of campaigning for the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly. Polling will be held on December 1 in 199 constituencies as voting in Churu has been postponed to December 13 following death of BSP candidate.

In Jaisalmer, Modi said, "Congress has spread the poison of casteism and comnunalism....had Congress done politics of development, youth of the country would not have to face unemployment."

Claiming a wave in BJP's favour, Modi said Congress will bite the dust and asked people to vote BJP to rid the country of Congress.

In Sumerpur (Pali), Modi accused Congress of working on divide and rule policy by creating rift among states over the issue of water distribution.

"There are confrontations among states over water sharing issue and this is all because of the Centre. Congress makes brothers, castes, communities and states fight against each other because it follows divide and rule policy," he said.
