CHENNAI: DMK members today walked out of Tamil Nadu Assembly incensed over a remark about their party chief M Karunanidhi by a pro-AIADMK DMDK member.

The DMK members made repeated demands for expunging the remark and walked out unsatisfied with the response of Speaker P Dhanapal that he would look into the record and decide.

Trouble arose during Question Hour no sooner after DMDK member K Tamil Azhagan, who switched loyalty to the ruling AIADMK in 2012, made a reference to agitations and Karunanidhi. DMK members strongly objected to it.

In the din, nothing much could be heard and the DMK members led by Duraimurugan walked up to the Speaker's Chair and urged its expunction.

Soon, an argument unfolded between some DMK members and Tamilazhagan and another DMDK member R Sundarrajan, who too is pro-AIADMK.

Leader of the House and Electricity Minister Natham R Viswanathan said the Speaker will look into DMK member's demand.

The Speaker said he will go into the record and decide. After some time, DMK members wanted to know about the decision of the Chair to their demand.

Unsatisfied with his response, they staged the walkout.
