Rejecting TIPRA's demand, BJP says can't compromise with unity of Tripura

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said the BJP believes in promoting tribal people, but it can't compromise with the unity and integrity of Tripura. His statement comes in the backdrop of the BJP holding alliance talks with Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA), whose leader Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barman had sought in writing that the government will carve out a tribal state from Tripura.
