Registration of pandits: 100 families submitted forms to RCO

Over 100 families have so far submitted their forms for returning to the valley since the first ever official exercise of registrations of Kashmiri pandits began on June 17.

JAMMU: Over 100 families have so far submitted their forms for returning to the valley since the first ever official exercise of registrations of Kashmiri pandits began on June 17.

"There is good response of the first ever official (government) exercise of registration of KPS for their return to valley in past 19 years. As many as 107 families have submitted their forms with Relief Commissioner Office here," Relief Commissioner Office (RCO) sources told.

As many as 1,150 registration forms have been taken by the migrants, they said.
"We have formally started the registration process on June 17 for displaced migrants, who desire to return to Kashmir valley and settle there," Relief Commissioner, Vinood Koul told.

Over 2000 registration forms have been made available at the office of Relief Commissioner and as the distribution of forms will increase, more forms would be made available, he said.

Migrants, who are interested in returning to the valley, have to furnish details and facilities they want in the forms, so that the government can take adequate measures for their rehabilitation, he added.
