'Regime change' row escalates': Assam CM Himanta’s blunt message to CJP, Congress
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described two recent protests as “purely political” and rejected the characterization of the agitations as youth-led. Referring to the NEET issue, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had respected the will of young people and taken the required steps. Sarma added that political protests would receive a political response and said he would have dealt more harshly with such agitation had it taken place in Assam.
