Reddy brothers will be removed if proved guilty: Eswarappa

SHIMOGA: BJP state president K S Eshwarappa today said that ministers and mining magnates Reddy brothers will be removed from their posts if charges of tax evasion against them were proved.

"Let us wait for the final report (by the Income Tax department) on alleged violations of tax and other allegations against Reddy brothers. If they are proved, they will certainly lose their positions," he told reporters here today.

"However I am sure Reddy brothers will come out clean", Eshwarappa said.

G Janardhana Reddy is the state tourism minister while the revenue ministry is headed by Karunakara Reddy.

Eshwarappa said Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will go in for cabinet expansion only after the ensuing Legislature session.

He flayed former chief minister and JD(S) state chief H D Kumaraswamy for his reported suggestion to Governor H R Bhardwaj that he should not address the joint secession of the state legislature on January 6.

"Let his father who served as the Prime Minister advise his son regarding the constitutional provisions of a democratic government. He (Kumarswamy) cannot assume super constitutional powers and has to respect the law," Eshwarappa said.
