Rebel YSR Congress MP demands cancellation of bail to Jagan Mohan Reddy

YSR Congress Lok Sabha member Kanumuri Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju filed a petition with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Tuesday, seeking cancellation of the bail it had granted to Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by accusing the latter of misusing the freedom granted.

The rebel ruling party lawmaker, who represents the Narsapuram constituency of Andhra Pradesh in the Lok Sabha and has been airing views against his party, submitted to the CBI court that CM Reddy has been intentionally subverting the course of justice.

The petition assumes significance as Supreme Court senior judge, Justice NV Ramana, against whom Reddy complained to chief justice SA Bobde, was appointed as the next Chief Justice of India by President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday. The CM, in his letter to Bobde last year, had levelled various allegations against Justice Ramana of influencing the sittings of the state high court and acting in the interests of the opposition.
