Realty baron Niranjan Hiranandani says no plans to enter politics
Realty baron Niranjan Hiranandani has said he had no plans to take a plunge into politics, and he was happy being in corporate sector.

THANE: Realty baron Niranjan Hiranandani has said he had no plans to take a plunge into politics, and he was happy being in corporate sector.
"No, it is not my cup of Tea," was the reaction of the Chairman of Hiranandani Group when he was asked if he would be entering politics now that he has established his business in various fields.
Hiranandani said he was comfortable being in real estate business. "No, I cannot mix business and politics, and hence want to be away from it."
He was speaking to reporters after announcing his Group's plan to launch a 200-bed multi-speciality hospital in this suburb of Mumbai.
The Group will be spending Rs 200 crore for the hospital, which will be set up adjacent to the realty major's upcoming residential township here.
"More over we run seven schools, a number of colleges, temples and also hospitals. We do our work to the best of our ability and serve the society. Let the politicians do their work as per their talent and ability," he said.
Hiranandani, who advices the Centre on housing and habitat policy, lamented the "step-motherly" treatment meted out to Thane and specifically mentioned that the metro and mono-rial proposals in the city are not taking-off even as the work on the Mumbai metro nears completion.
"In the coming years Thane is going to the be most preferred location of the house hunters. Hence, the city needs proper attention and care," he said.
