Reaching Everest easier than securing national border: Bachendri Pal
JAISALMER: Bachendri Pal, India's first woman mountaineer to conquer Mount Everest, today appreciated BSF personnel and said it is easier to climb the world's highest mountain than work in 50 degrees for the nation's security.

"When a woman can reach and touch Mount Everest then no aim is beyond reach. But it is easy to reach the Everest than work in 50 degree Celsius temperature on border for the nation's security," she told reporters after arriving here with a camel safari.

"No work is tough for a woman if she does it with dedication and no one can stop her from being successful," she said.

The iconic mountaineer is leading a team of 27 women on the camel safari aimed at empowering women as part of BSF's golden jubilee celebrations. The safari started from Bhuj on February 24 and will reach Punjab's Atari after traversing 2,300 kms later this month.
