Re-polling in 116 booths held peacefully in Jharkhand

Re-polling in 116 booths was held peacefully in Jharkhand, which had witnessed large scale violence, during the first phase. Re-polling was held in Rajmahal, Dumka, Godda, Giridih, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Chaibasa Lok Sabha constituencies and Jamtara assembly constituency, which went for a byelection.

According to a state election official, no untoward incident was reported from any part of the state. While 50 per cent polling was reported in the Lok Sabha constituencies, 51 per cent was reported from Jamtara.

With this the polling for all the 14 LS constituencies and Jamtara assembly constituency, have been completed in Jharkhand.
