RBI's next mid-quarter monetary policy review on September 20

MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank will release its next mid-quarter monetary policy review on September 20, two days later than was announced earlier.

"The Reserve Bank of India will release the next Mid- Quarter Review of Monetary Policy 2013-14 at 11.00 am on September 20, 2013 instead of September 18, 2013 as indicated in the First Quarter Review of Monetary Policy 2013-14," it said in a press release.

The review will be by way of a press release, it added. "This will be followed by Governor Raghuram Rajan addressing the media in the afternoon," RBI said.

Rajan, the new Governor of the central bank, said yesterday that he would present his views on inflation when he unveils his first policy review on September 20.

He had presented several new measures including more trade settlement in rupees to rescue the battered financial markets and hinted at a shift in focus from inflation control.
