RBI employees to boycott work on August 20

The All India Reserve Bank Employees Association has called for a strike nationwide strike on August 20 opposing outsosurcing of bank's jobs and demanding recruitment to fill up vacancies for the Class III posts.

KOLKATA: The All India Reserve Bank Employees Association has called for a strike nationwide strike on August 20 opposing outsosurcing of bank's jobs and demanding recruitment to fill up vacancies for the Class III posts.

The AIRBEA General Secretary Samir Ghosh told the media that the strike notice had already been served to the RBI management by the association.

He said that about 10,000 employees of the central bank across the country would participate in the strike.
He said that inspection of banks, non-banking finance companies and urban cop-operative banks were done mostly off-site.

The class III staff strength of the bank was just one- fourth of what it was in early nineties, he added, demanding recruitment under the category.
