Ratlam-Jhabua by-poll result will have national impact: Pilot

INDORE: Terming the Ratlam-Jhabua Lok Sabha by-poll crucial for Congress in Madhya Pradesh, party leader Sachin Pilot today said the result will have an impact on country's "changing political scenario".

"This by-poll is not a challenge for us, but is an important opportunity. I am confident that it's result will have impact on the country's changing political scenario," Pilot, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee chief, told reporters here before heading for Ratlam-Jhabua seat to campaign for the party's candidate, Kantilal Bhuria.

Targeting the BJP-led government at the Centre, Pilot said, "The results of Delhi and Bihar are there before us. It clearly reflects that Modi government has lost people's faith."

He alleged that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh is neck deep "involved" in Vyapam scam and corruption.

"The people have a chance to express their voice against these corruption in the Ratlam-Jhabua by-polls," he said.

The by-poll in slated for November 21. While Congress has fielded former Union Minister Bhuria from the seat, the BJP gave ticket to sitting MLA from Petlawad, Nirmala Bhuria.

Nirmala is the daughter of late Dileep Singh Bhuria, who won the last Lok Sabha polls from the seat and whose death necessitated the by-poll.
