CHANDIGARH: Disgraced former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore on Monday filed an appeal in the Session Court in Chandigarh against the recent judgement of the CBI court convicting him for molesting teenager Ruchika Girhotra.

The CBI court last week sentenced him to six-month imprisonment for molesting the budding tennis player in 1990.

The appeal is likely to be marked to an appropriate court tomorrow.

Rathore, who retired in 2002, was the IGP when he molested Ruchika who committed suicide in December 1993.

Earlier in the day, Rathore moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging a lower court order rejecting his anticipatory bail pleas in two fresh FIRs filed by Ruchika's father and brother levelling serious criminal charges against him.

The application will come up for hearing tomorrow.
