Rashtrapati Bhawan, UPSC building, Hyderabad House among cleanest government buildings

NEW DELHI: Rashtrapati Bhawan, Vigyan Bhawan, UPSC building, Hyderabad House and Jawahar Lal Nehru Bhawan are the cleanest government buildings in New Delhi.

In the cleanliness assessment and rating exercise for government buildings and offices in New Delhi under Swachh Bharat Mission, these five buildings have emerged as the cleanest and scoring perfect marks on all cleanliness parameters. UPSC building has been the best performer sprucing up its act over the last one year as it had scored 17 marks and has now scored a perfect 20 in the current survey. Rashtrapati Bhawan has also improved its score.

The dirtiest building remains AGCR building which has consistently scored 9 marks in two consecutive surveys. Nirvachan Sadan, which houses the Election Commission of India, has been another poor performer as the state of cleanliness has worsened over the last one year. Buildings which haven’t changed their cleanliness levels include IP Bhawan, Drum shaped building and Transport Bhawan.

The assessment exercise was carried out by Central Public Works Department (CPWD) between March 16 and 21 following the fortnightly thematic cleanliness drive in government buildings.
