Rape accused lynched in Barabanki

BARABANKI: In another instance of mob justice, a man who allegedly raped a five-year-old girl was lynched by angry villagers in Jahangirabad area of the district on Saturday.
Sagir had allegedly raped the daughter of one Ramnaresh in Bhayara village and on hearing her cries, villagers rushed to the spot, additional superintendent of police Gyaneshwar Tiwari said.
He said the mob then thrashed him with iron rods and bamboo sticks, killing him on the spot. The ASP said several criminal cases were pending against Sagir.
The incident comes on the back of similar cases like the one a week ago when a murder accused was beaten to death by a mob in Hajipur.
