Rao Inderjit Singh visits Western Command

CHANDIGARH: Union Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh today visited the Western Command at Chandimandir near here, during which he was informed about its operational, training and administrative aspects.

The Minister got first-hand information on the operational, training and administrative aspects of the Western Command by Army Commander Lt Gen K J Singh, a Defence spokesman said here.

The Minister also addressed the Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Sainiks of Chandimandir Military Station and complimented them for their dedication and hard work, he said.

He also assured them of complete support from the Centre in ensuring high standards of operational readiness and welfare.

The minister also reiterated government's commitment towards ' one rank one pension' (OROP) scheme, the spokesman said.
