Ranjana Bajpai nominated as president of Samajwadi Party's women wing

It has been expected from Bajpai to constitute National Executive within 15 days and get it approved by the party supremo.

LUCKNOW: SP leader Ranjana Bajpai, who was stripped of the Minister of State status by Akhilesh Government after the party's rout in Lok Sabha polls, was today nominated as the national president of the party's women wing.

Bajpai, who was advisor in State Planning Commission, has been nominated as the national president of Samajwadi Mahila Sabha by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, party's national spokesman Ramgopal Yadav said in a statement.

It has been expected from Bajpai, former Chairman of State Women Commission, to constitute National Executive within 15 days and get it approved by the party supremo.

Rattled by Samajwadi Party's rout in Lok Sabha polls, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister had sacked 36 leaders, including Bajpai, who had status of minister of state in his government.
