Ranchi Deputy Commissioner asks official to probe model code violation by Arun Jaitley

RANCHI: Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey has asked a state official to find out whether there was any election model code violation by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley during his visit here today.

The Deputy Commissioner told the media that a magistrate was asked to give the report by 11 am tomorrow whether the minister travelled by beacon-fitted car to the venue where the BJP organised a programme.

Travelling by beacon-fitted car by leaders for party functions is barred during enforcement of election model code, Choubey said, adding, any action depended upon the findings of the report.

Jaitley was here in connection with the release of manifesto of BJP ahead of the five-phase Jharkhand assembly elections beginning November 25.
