Ramdev's claims of curing AIDS will be checked: Union Minister Shripad Naik

PANAJI: Yoga guru Ramdev's reported claim regarding the cure of HIV-AIDS will be clinically checked by the government, Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Naik said today.

"We will get details from him. We will have to get it clinically cleared," Naik told reporters here, in response to a question whether his ministry will examine the claims of the Yoga guru that he can cure cancer and AIDS.

Ramdev has, in the past, courted controversy with his claims to cure fatal diseases like cancer and AIDS through Yoga and Pranayama (a breathing exercise).

The minister was speaking after releasing the data regarding Goa's faring on the AIDS front in the last few years.
