Ramdev to get cabinet minister status in Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Yoga Guru Ramdev, who campaigned vigorously in Haryana for the BJP during the general elections, will be accorded the status of Cabinet minister. Ramdev was named the brand ambassador of Haryana soon after the party took charge in the state.

“Baba Ramdev, brand ambassador for promotion of yoga and ayurveda, in Haryana will be given status equivalent to Cabinet minister,” tweeted state health minister Anil Vij on Monday. Haryana government is already toeing Ramdev’s line on promoting yoga across the state.

Recently, government announced to make yoga compulsory in all schools and equip all sports stadiums in every district with a yoga centre. Municipal bodies and Huda would construct yoga practice halls in their areas of jurisdiction. Special coaching of physical education teachers in yoga will be organised.
