Ram temple should be built some time: BJP

NEW DELHI: A day after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed hope that Ram temple will be built in his lifetime, BJP today said it definitely believes that the "Ram temple should be built some time".

Asked if it will be built during the term of Narendra Modi government, party leader and Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said "I do not know".

"It is not a new statement. It has been said several times. BJP definitely believes Ram temple should be built sometime," she told a press conference when asked to comment on Bhagwat's remarks.

Speaking at an event in Kolkata, Bhagwat had hoped that the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya be completed in his lifetime.

"The grand goal may be realised in our own time. May be we can see it with our own eyes," he had said.
