The BJP has issued a whip to its Lok Sabha members to remain present on the last day of the session, stating that some very important legislative business will be taken up for discussion and passing in the house on Saturday February 10.
In the Lok Sabha, the motion will be moved under the Rule 193 by BJP MP Satypal Singh and seconded by Pratap Sarangi and Santosh Pandey. Similarly in Rajya Sabha, the discussion on the same motion would be held under Rule 176.
A The session was extended by one day as the government brought a ‘White Paper’ on the state of economy in both Houses. Now another unlisted agenda is being planned for the last day of the last session of 17th Lok Sabha. Sources said the government is considering a resolution on Ram temple in Ayodhya on the last day of the session. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to address the House.
On January 22 this year, Modi as the 'Mukhya Yajman' (chief patron) performed the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He had also laid the foundation stone of the temple in 2020, almost a year after the Supreme Court pronounced its verdict giving the disputed land to Hindus for construction of a temple.
