After announcing Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind as the presidential candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised him on his Twitter handle. PM Modi tweeted that Ram Nath Kovind is a "farmer's son" who comes from a humble background and "Kovind's knowledge and understanding of the Constitution will benefit the nation."



PM Modi tweeted, "with his illustrious background in the legal arena, Shri Kovind's knowledge and understanding of the Constitution will benefit the nation."



2017 Modi also added that the Kovind will make an exceptional President and "continue to be a strong voice for the poor, downtrodden & marginalised."
