Rajya Sabha polls: Congress fields Akhilesh Prasad Singh from Bihar

The Congress had yesterday cleared the names of 10 of its candidates in which it preferred local state leaders over some bigwigs for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election.

Congress today cleared two more names for the Rajya Sabha election .
NEW DELHI: The Congress today cleared two more names for the Rajya Sabha election and nominated Akhilesh Prasad Singh from Bihar and Lekhram Sahu from Chhattisgarh.

"Congress president Rahul Gandhi has approved the proposal for the candidature of Akhilesh Prasad Singh from Bihar and Lekhram Sahu from Chhatisgarh for the Rajya Sabha election," AICC general secretary Oscar Fernandes said.

The Congress had yesterday cleared the names of 10 of its candidates in which it preferred local state leaders over some bigwigs for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election.
