NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon today after opposition uproar over coalgate scam, Chinese incursions and acquittal of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

As soon as the House met for the day, BJP members trooped into the Well shouting: "Pradhan Mantri Istifa do, Istifa do (Prime Minister resign)" and "Pradhan Mantri sharam karo, sharam karo (shame on you Prime Minister)" over alleged attempts to influence CBI probe into the coalgate scam.

Some BJP and Akali Dal members held posters against the acquittal of Sajjan Kumar. One of the posters demanded an investigation by an SIT appointed by Supreme Court.

Samajwadi Party members too joined them in the Well shouting slogans against Chinese incursions. "China ki dadagiri nahi chalegi (Chinese highhandedness will not be tolerated)," they shouted.

Chairman Hamid Ansari asked members not to come into the Well or display posters.

With members not heeding to his requests, he ordered live telecast of the proceedings to be shut-off.
