Home Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone of office-cum-residential complex of National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the city on November 5.

LUCKNOW: Home Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone of office-cum-residential complex of National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the city on November 5.

The office complex of NIA will be spread over 2,720 square meters, while the residential complex will be made over an area of 6,065 square meters.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) rpt Ministry of Home Affairs had sanctioned Rs 32.66 crore for this project scheduled to be completed within 18 months.

Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone of the NIA complexes on November 5, wherein senior officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Police Organisations (CPOs) will be present on the occasion, an official release issued here said.

The project has been assigned to National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) Limited.

The branch office of NIA was made operational here on May 20, 2012.

The branch is investigating the terrorism related cases of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, including Naxal attacks.

Presently, the branch office is functioning from a rented accommodation in Gomti Nagar locality.
