Rajnath Singh on Indo-Pak ties: If Pakistan responds properly, talks can be resumed
Reacting to Rajnath Singh's statement, Pakistan Foreign Office said, "Dialogue is the only way forward."

Singh went on to say, "Neighbours are neighbours. We want good relations with them." "We want better relations with our neighbours, but we should be capable enough to respond when needed," Singh added. "If Pakistan wants then talks can be held again. You can change your friends, but not your neighbours," the Home Minister said.

On the other hand, Congress hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. "Government should clarify its policy on Pakistan," Congress demanded.
Last week, Modi wrote to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif offering assistance to victims of the devastation caused by the torrential rains and floods in PoK.
In his reply, Sharif had said he was aware that the Kashmiris on the Indian side of the Line of Control have also faced heavy loss of life and material damage.
The two leaders have skillfully used the ravaging rains to build trust after India cancelled Foreign Secretary-level talks due Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit's meetings with separatist leaders of Kashmir.
A few days ago, Sharif also sent mangoes to Modi which helped thaw in the ties.
