HARIDWAR: Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diplomatic endeavours for the warning US president Barack Obama issued to Pakistan against harboring terrorists.

Referring to Modi's visits to several countries as PM during the past six months, Singh claimed that India's image in the world has boosted.

"For the first time our Army has given a befitting reply to those trying to infiltrate into our borders from Pakistan," the home minister, who was on his way to Dehradun to attend the wedding of former Uttarakhand chief minister Ramesh Pokharial Nishank's daughter, said.

He added that the government's initiative to secure large scale foreign investment in the country will give a fillip to the economy. Talking about the Union government's Jan-Dhan Yojana, Singh said the government wants bank accounts to multiply to such an extent that subsidies can be directly transferred and the middleman's role is completely abolished.
