Rajnath Singh asks J&K CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to arrest Masarat Alam
NEW DELHI: Rajnath Singh has asked J&K CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in clear terms to arrest separatist leader Masarat Alam, a move that the state government is expected to take soon, Home Ministry officials said.

"We will not tolerate anyone raising slogans like 'Pakistan zindabad' on Indian soil. I asked the J&K CM to take strict action against Masarat Alam. I have told the CM that the country won’t accept pro-Pakistan slogans on Indian soil,” Rajnath Singh said on Thursday.

The J&K CM is said to have been non-committal in his conversation with Rajnath but Home Ministry officials said they had "feelers" that Alam would be arrested soon since he has been booked by the state police under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
