NEW DELHI: The all—party delegation slated to visit Jammu and Kashmir later this week will have 35 members, including Home Minister Rajnath Singh and finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

The delegation is expected to visit on September 4—5. Before the delegation visits the valley, the Members of Parliament would be given a briefing by senior home ministry officials at the Parliament building on September 3, a senior home ministry official said.

Minister of State, PMO Jitendra Singh and home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi may also accompany the delegation. Though Jammu region has not seen any violence or protests spend few hours in Jammu city while returning from Srinagar on September 5. "So far, the plan is to take the delegation straight to Srinagar where they will interact with the affected people. There is plan to halt at Jammu as well and interact with people there as well," said the official.

Kashmir Valley has been on edge for 53 days following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani on July 8. Home Minister had visited the Valley twice since the turmoil began.
