Rajasthan to introduce online MNREGS rollsystem
Rajasthan has become the first state to roll out online e-muster roll system in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
“This is for the first time e-muster roll is being generated online. Earlier, it was being generated in off line mode which used to take 3-4 days. We would be able to generate on line data of validated electronic payments,” he said. The computerization and generation of online MIS (Management Information Service) data is being processed in states like Orissa, Punjab, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
“However generation of online e-muster roll and real time payment data has been started at this panchayat samiti only. This will provide a fool proof mechanism to monitor and evaluate the scheme at the block level in order to provide complete accountability to the centre,” he said. Apart from that, the state government is also planning to make MNREGA jobs available over a phone call.
It plans to set up a dedicated call centre for registering job requisitions and complaints over phone ousting the present system of filling the job requisition on written slips. “We have invited expression of interest for a call centre where in anyone from across the state seeking work under MGNREGA will just have to call a number and place his request over the phone. There will be no need to fill up any special form, says MNREGA(Rajasthan) Ram Nivas Mehta.
