Udaipur incident: Rajasthan police arrests 2 more suspects

The Rajasthan Police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the murder of a tailor Kanhaiya Lal who was hacked to death inside his shop by two men in broad daylight in Udaipur. The two suspects - Aashif Hussain (23) and Mohsin Khan (25) - were alleged to be involved in the conspiracy and preparation behind the crime along with Mohammad Riyaz and Ghouse Mohammed, who were arrested earlier, police said.

Aashif and Mohsin were sent on transit remand and will be produced before the NIA court on Saturday. The NIA is likely to seek the custody of the four accused. A test identification parade of the suspects will be conducted before the NIA seeks their remand. Late Thursday night, Riyaz and Ghouse were shifted to Ajmer's high-security jail after being remanded to 14 days judicial custody by an Udaipur court. Police are questioning three more suspects..

Rajasthan Police will hand over the documents related to the case to NIA. The motorcycle used in the crime has also been recovered.


The police in a statement said information regarding the accused's links with Pak-based organisation was ascertained after investigation by the police and central agencies. The clarification came after media reports quoting NIA officials said it was "premature" to draw links between accused persons and Pak-based NGOs.
