An important meeting of Rajasthan BJP took place in Delhi at the residence of BJP president JP Nadda where internal coordination among the state leaders and the party's plans for the next few months were discussed.

Former CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia, state BJP president Satish Poonia, state general secretary, organisation, Chandrashekhar, Rajendra Rathod and Gulabchand Katariya were present at the meeting. BJP general secretary BL Santosh, state in-charge Arun Singh, union ministers Arjun Meghwal and Gajendra Shekhawat were also present.

The state leaders had come up with data on the party's current position in different regions of the state. Sources told ET that Nadda and Santosh stressed on proper coordination between the state leaders whether it be in raising issues of public interest or launching agitations against the ruling Congress government.

The party leadership feels that the atmosphere in the state is positive for the BJP in next year's assembly elections and that party leaders should keep the pot boiling.

The meeting was also an attempt to send out a message of unity among the state leaders.

Last week, BL Santosh was on a two-day trip to Rajasthan, during which he held meetings with party workers and made it clear that candidate selection and other election related decisions would be taken by the central leadership based on the report card and no one would get a ticket just because he is associated with any leader. That was the precursor before Tuesday's meeting in Delhi for the party leaders to act united.

The question over the party's CM face remains undecided. Some leaders are of the opinion that the party shouldn't project a CM face and fight the election under the collective leadership of brand Modi.

Sources told ET that senior cabinet ministers and central party leaders will make regular visits to Rajasthan from May. Nadda will visit Rajasthan in May to inaugurate 16 new party offices in different districts and address a Mandal presidents' sammelan.
