JAIPUR: Rajasthan Government today announced to waive irrigation fee for farmers in 563 villages where the crop damage was above 50 per cent in March-April's untimely rainfall and hailstorm.

Irrigation fee (Abiyana) will be exempted for farmers living in 563 villages of Rajasthan's 12 districts whose crop was lost above 50 per cent, an official said.

Of these, Nagaur district has got 141 villages, Churu 96, Bharatpur 86, Alwar and Jaisalmer 75 each, Jaipur 39, Barmer 11 and others.

Earlier, the Calamity and Relief department had declared 563 villages of the state under scarcity hit, and this order would be effective till July 31, 2015.
