Rajasthan government to launch Jal Swavlamban Yojana next month

BUNDI: With an objective to make best use of water accumulated from various resources locally, Rajasthan government will launch Jal Swavlamban Yojana, a self-reliance water scheme next month, at an estimated budget of Rs 1500 crore.

Interacting with media persons here today, Baboo Lal Verma, state's Transport Minister said, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje gave final nod to the proposal during a top-level meeting in Jaipur yesterday.

A budget of Rs 1500 crore has been sanctioned for the scheme, the Minister said adding support and cooperation from all sectors, including the corporates, would be sought to ensure its successful implementation.

Earlier, in the morning, the Minister inaugurated a three-day photo exhibition in the district's public relation office, highlighting the achievements of the state government, which completed two years in office on December 13.

Criticising the previous Congress-led government Verma said Rajasthan was in a "critical" state two years ago when they were in power.

Vasundhara Raje government rejuvenated the economy of the state through attempts like 'Resurgent Rajasthan', he claimed.

An investment of over 3 lakh crore has been pumped into the state through 'Resurgent Rajasthan', the Minister said claiming the people of the state were showing full trust and faith in the government.

Local BJP MLA Ashok Dogera, District Collector Neha Giri and Chairman of Bundi Municipal Council, Mahaveer Modi were also present on the occasion.

On the allegedly slow implementation of some welfare schemes in the district, Verma expressed his dissatisfaction and directed the officials concerned to expedite the same.
