Rajasthan EC seeks parties' cooperation for civic body polls

JAIPUR: Rajasthan State Election Commission today urged all political parties to cooperate in conducting free, fair and peaceful civic body polls in the state, slated to be held next month.

Political parties should cooperate in conducting free, fair and peaceful election in 129 civic bodies, State Election Commissioner Ram Lubhaya told the representatives during a meeting organised here.

Like previous polls, all parties showed keen interest and cooperation, a press release quoting Lubhaya said.

Voters list, symbol allotments, all orders and notification concerning the civic body polls are being uploaded on the website of the commission, the State Election Commissioner said.

He also directed the representatives of political parties to follow guidelines and Model Code of Conduct.

Representatives of Congress, BJP, BSP, CPI-M and CPI participated in the meeting.
