Rajasthan CM Vasundhra Raje revives much touted Bhamashah Scheme
JAIPUR: Setting aside Rs 600 crore, Vasundhara Raje revived her much touted ‘ Bhamashah Scheme’ which seeks to club delivery of all government welfare goods and services under one umbrella for the Below Poverty Line families, apart from financially aiding poor women.

This move articulates Rajasthan administration’s position on Aadhar and direct benefits transfer schemes, which are being hotly debated by the NDA government at the Centre.

During her speech on Monday morning, Raje criticised Aadhar for replacing her pet ‘Bhamashah Scheme’ – introduced in 2008 but discarded by the Gehlot administration in 2009 after Aadhar was introduced.

“Aadhar is confined as an identity scheme. Neither does this make financial inclusion mandatory, neither were bank accounts opened in the name of women beneficiaries,” she said.
