JAIPUR: Employees of Rajasthan Assembly today decided to work to pay homage to former President A P J Abdul Kalam who passed away on Monday.

Speaker Kailash Meghwal and all other employees worked in their offices in the Assembly on a holiday today as a mark of respect to Kalam, who had wished that no holiday should be declared on his death and wanted people to work an extra day, according to a release.

Kalam, the 11th President of India who became popular as "People's President", died due to cardiac attack while delivering a lecture at IIM Shillong and his last rites were performed in his hometown Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.
