NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has accepted Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchans apology. (Watch)

Addressing the media, the MNS chief said, We are withdrawing our agitation. We accept Big Bs apology because he went public, he said.

Jaya Bachchan should not speak on issues that she has no idea of, he added. Raj said Jaya should not speak impromptu and should stick to a script.

Amitabh had apologized at a press conference and on his blog on Wednesday in the hope that it would pacify the rowdy MNS activists who had gone on a rampage ripping posters of his latest movie The Last Lear and threatening other Bollywood sites over wife Jaya Bachchans alleged anti-Marathi remarks.

The MNS, which has targeted non-Marathi speakers and even attacked shops for not putting up Marathi signages, had said it wanted Jaya to personally apologize before print and TV journalists for recently saying at a films music launch that she would speak in Hindi as she was from UP.
