MUMBAI: Heavy downpour all through Thursday night has resulted in waterlogging on many railway tracks, throwing the morning rush hour rail service completely out of gear in the city.

Trains on the Central railway are running late by around 25-30 minutes while Western railway services are around five minutes behind schedule, railway police said.

The disruption has severely affected the regular commuters and office-goers who board trains from different suburbs of Mumbai to reach their destination in South Mumbai, they added.

However, the city continued to receive showers since Friday morning causing a lot of inconvenience to the public.
