Railway ministry first endorses and later removes tweet against Arvind Kejriwal
The criticism over surge pricing seems to have overwhelmed the railway ministry who on Friday retweeted a tweet against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over surge pricing but later took it back.

A Shatabdi passenger, in a tweet, claimed the AAP leader was fibbing over the resentment against surge pricing implemented by Indian Railways for three trains — Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto, quoting passengers in the train in which he was travelling.

Kejriwal tweeted "I am in shatabdi rt now. Spoke to several people. Everyone is against Modi Govt's surge pricing."

One passenger immediately decided to call him out on the tweet and responded, "I am in same Shatabdi. You didnt speak to anyone. People hooted seeing you entering in coach. #ShamelessLiar #Kejri."

Arvind Kejriwal, who yesterday began his four-day Punjab tour was sent off by protesters in Delhi and greeted by more in Ludhiana which were mostly against AAP’s silence over allegations of exploitation of women against its leaders.

The Railway Ministry retweeted the passenger's tweet refuting Kejriwal's claim but later deleted it, probably realising the goof-up.

The Ministry of Railways yesterday said these three trains would have flexi-fares from September 9, where the price of the berths will increase 10 percent of the existing fare with every 10 percent of the tickets sold. The maximum fare has been capped at 1.5 times of the base fare, which means half of the berths would be sold at that rate.

Facing criticism, the railways also later added that the decision to introduce dynamic surge pricing for premier train tickets has been done on an experimental basis and it will be reviewed after some time.
