Raids at TaxiForSure offices in Bengaluru
BENGALURU: Karnataka Transport department officials on Tuesday went after taxi aggregator TaxiForSure in Bengaluru, a day after raiding the offices of Uber in a bid to restrain app-based taxi firms from running their services.

A team led by Transport Joint Commissioner ( Bengaluru City & Rural) Narendra Holkar raided TaxiForSure's office in Jayanagar, and asked the firm not to run its services. "TaxiForSure has been illegally operating in Bengaluru since 2011 by attaching about 3000 taxis. We have directed them to stop offering their app-based services forthwith," Holkar told ET. His team also took custody of the firm’s gadgets for studying. TaxiForSure declined to comment on the development.

The department has also issued a verbal direction to Uber to halt its business, which Holkar said, has been functioning without an operator’s license since 2013 by tying up with about 3500 taxis.
